A Story in Black and White — Jessica & Taylor

Jessica and Taylor were married in June 2026 at The Stone Barn, at four in the afternoon, in The Sanctuary out in the pines. The ceremony was intimate with family only. There was no first look. Her dad walked her down the path through the trees, and Taylor saw her for the first time from the end of the aisle. Everyone else arrived just in time for dinner.

A lot of the day was photographed in black and white, and it tells the story better than we can. The morning in matching pajamas. A tie being fixed. A long hug. Five bridesmaids walking out under paper parasols. The walk back up the aisle, and a few minutes alone in the pines afterwards.

The palette was soft baby blue and sage green, every variation of cream, ivory and white, pops of rose pink, and a lot of wood. Leanne built the florals out of blue delphinium and hydrangea, white garden roses, stock and eucalyptus — in the bouquets, in woven baskets down the Sanctuary deck, climbing the ceremony arrangement, and up on tall glass at the reception tables. Jessica's bouquet was wrapped in an embroidered handkerchief with a C and the date stitched in blue.

The parasols came out before the ceremony. White paper, tassels on the handles, waiting in a basket by the door. Five bridesmaids in mismatched blue, sage and dove grey and a flower girl in baby blue took them out into the June afternoon, and those are some of our favorite photographs of the summer.

Jeanne's cake was three white tiers with sugar flowers and vines worked into the sides, white on white, set under a floral arch at the windows. Taylor's groom's cake was black with white stars, and just his style with WALL-E and EVE on top.

Then the patio, with a lamp on every table, and the dance floor. In place of a bouquet toss and a garter toss, they did an anniversary dance for everyone. By the end of the night there was a disposable camera on every table, each full of images from a night well lived.
