A Color Story - Averi & Hunter

Averi and Hunter met in high school and started dating their junior year, which means by the time they were married on June 2026 at The Stables they had already spent most of their lives together. The ceremony was at six, in the white-washed chapel, in front of the timber cross and two of the loudest floral arrangements we have ever built.

Averi's decor was Palm Springs with a modern, preppy coastal flair, and she meant it. Raspberry, blush, vibrant orange, coral pink and mustard yellow, with pastel purple touches and greenery mixed from pistachio through to deep lime. Every bridesmaid wore a different color, hung together on the dark wall of the suite that morning like a paint chart. The bouquets followed — hot pink roses, peonies, yellow yarrow, purple scabiosa,daisies, long trails of green amaranthus. Chairs tied with olive and peach ribbon.

Cocktail tables in orange and white stripes with our rattan lamps on top. The cake carried the one quiet color: four tiers, alternating fluted and smooth, with a lilac wave piped around them and a lilac monogram on the front — the same monogram that was pressed into the wax seal on the invitations.

Against all of it, Averi wore the quietest thing in the room — white matte satin, fitted, with a scarf cape instead of a veil, and Betsey Johnson heels. Hunter and his groomsmen in sand. It's the trick that makes a bright palette work: give the eye one still place to land.
